If we know that you are coming then our staff will be at the jetty to take care of your luggage.
As you can see above the last passenger ferry from Parapat – Tiga Raja Harbour to Tuk Tuk is at 19:30 h. Should you miss this ferry, nothing to worry, you just take a later ferry to Tomok from either Tiga Raja or AjiBata Harbour. If we know that you are coming our staff will already be waiting for you in Parapat and after 19:30 h assist, guide and escort you to the right ferry to Tomok, and we will pick you up by car from Tomok and bring you to Horas Family Home at a small additional cost. The ride from Tomok to Horas Family Home takes about 15minutes.

If we don’t know you that you are coming you are most welcome to check us out as walk in guest. Our basic room which comes at a reasonable cost, Horas Mini, in operation since mid of July 2014 is getting quite popular. Our basic room still comes with western toilet, 24 h / day hot water, mosquito nets, free drinking water, free kayaking and free working WIFI. From the Sosor Galung Jetty follow the paved footpath to the Tuk Tuk Ring road. Turn to the right, pass Bagus Bay and you will see the HORAS entrance at your right hand.
When going from Tuk Tuk to Parapat you see Horas Family Home at your left hand and us waving the guests of Horas Family Home goodbye and see you again next time.

The passenger ferries from Tuk Tuk to Parapat also operate on the schedule as given above, but this may sometimes be a bit tricky. The timings hold for the official take off point of the ferry. This is the Silintong Jetty. It means that to make it in time to take off at the top of the hour from the Silintong Jetty the ferry may already pick up the passengers at the Sosor Galung Jetty 15 minutes before.

Note: During ‘High Season’ such as Christmas, New Year, Chinese New Year, Imlek, Eid ul Fitr, Hari Raja two car ferries between Parapat and Tomok operate non-stop 24 hours a day. As during the high season there may be much more cars than the ferries can ferry waiting time for the car ferry can easily go up to 8 to 10 hrs.

The new car ferry IHAN BATAK is now, February 2019, operating on the schedule given above. The ferry operates on the RoRo system and the one way crossing takes 50 minutes. The ticket is a bit more expensive than the Parapat - Tomok car ferries. The good news is that the ferry only carries regular cars, which means no (Pertamina) Trucks.

When coming by car from Berastagi and bringing the car with you to Horas Family Home it could be well worth to try to catch the 17:00 h car ferry from Tiga Ras to Simanindo and saving you the ride to Parapat.
